AMHERST, Massachusetts -- After being named the IWLCA New England
Region Division III coach of the year, Amherst head women's lacrosse
coach Chris Paradis took home all of the hardware by being named
the 1999 IWLCA Division III National Coach of the Year.
With a 14-3 record, the Amherst
College women's lacrosse team set records for both wins in a
regular season (11) and overall wins (14). With 1st round and
quarterfinal wins in the NCAA tournament, Coach Paradis led the
Jeffs to their first ever NCAA Final Four. Paradis and the young
Jeffs squad defeated The College of New Jersey in the National
Division III semifinal game and advanced to the Division III
National Championship game. Amherst was defeated
by Middlebury in the title game 10-9. Amherst ended their record
breaking season with a 14-3 record.
