Putnam's Three With 2.8 Seconds On the Clock Lifts Amherst Past Wesleyan, 61-58

Middletown, CT-- Hallsion Putnam hit a 3-pointer with 2.8 seconds to play to break a 58-58 tie. Wesleyan trailed by as many as 13 (21-8) in the first half, but cut the margin to four at the half. Wesleyan took its first lead at 34-33 and then led 37-33 before Amherst again pulled ahead, leading by 8 (57-43) with 5:25 to play. Wesleyan eventually tied the game at 58-58 on a tradtional 3-point play with 11.4 seconds to play before Putnam's final shot. (Wesleyan Sports Information Director Game Notes)
