Amherst Guilty of Trouncing the Judges
Chris Ingraham '99 holds court and leads the Lord Jeffs past Brandeis, 102-58

AMHERST, Massachusetts -- Court was in session in LeFrak Gymnasium Tuesday night and the Judges of Brandeis University were sentenced to a night of misery. Chris Ingraham '99 scored a game-high 21 points and Chris Smith '00 notched a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds as the Lord Jeffs made quick work of the overmatched squad from Brandeis. The win broke a three-game skid for the Jeffs and stands as thier most decisive win of the season.

The hot-shooting Jeffs (54.5% from the field and 40.0% from beyond the arc) wasted no time after the opening tip and immediately took a commanding lead. One of the most notable events of the evening came by way of the slam-dunk contest that seemed to be taking place amongst Amherst teammates. In the first half, Hugh Quattlebaum '00 stole a crossing-pass from the Brandeis guard and took it the length of the court for a one-handed slam. Later on in the second with Amherst on a three-man break, Caith Chapman '99 attacked the hoop, made a no-look pass to Chris Ingraham slashing in from the right who made another no-look tip-pass to Jackson Collins '01 filling the lane. Collins took the ball and elevated above the astounded Brandeis defender and dunked the ball with force. As the official judge, I give Quattlebaum a strong 8.5 while I am forced to award Collins a perfect 10.0 simply because all 104 jaws hit the floor as a result of the dunk.

Amherst improves to 12-7 and hits the court again this weekend for two home games-- Friday night versus Bates (7:00 p.m.) and Saturday afternoon versus Tufts (3:00 p.m.)
