Men's Tennis

- The 1997-98 men's tennis team finished another fine season
with a 12-5 record and a No. 8 ranking in the nation. Amherst
concluded the regular season with an 11-4 record, and for the
ninth time in ten years, the Jeffs finished in the top-two at
the NESCAC Championship.

The team will look to build on its success in the 1998-99 campaign.
Returning from the NCAA Championships are seniors Harlan Stock
and doubles-specialist Matt Fox, junior co-captain Scott Chase,
and sophomore Reeve Segal. All four will be expected to step
up, along with Yo Kobayshi, who will return from injury for his
senior season. Newcomers David Wellner, Bryan Wexler, Kevin Yeh,
George Tsai and Peter Ransenmeir are also expected to make an
impact on the program.
