AMHERST, Massachusetts -- Eleven Polar Bears contributed to scoring plays as Bowdoin posted an 8-5 victory over Amherst at Orr Rink. Four Bowdoin players finished with three points each, led by Kacy White (Edgartown, MA) with two goals and an assist.
Jess Frisch (Bethesda, MD) put Amherst on the board first with a power play goal, but Bowdoin responded with four scores through the beginning of the second period. A Gretchen Bowe (Hampstead, NH) tally with 30 seconds to play in the second cut the Bowdoin advantage to one at 4-3, but the Polar Bears sealed the victory with four goals in the third.
Megan McHugo (Norwich, VT) and Emily Hinman (Westboro, MA) had three assists each for Bowdoin, who improves to 3-3 overall, 3-2 in the ECAC Alliance. Amherst was led by two goals and two assists by Genny Furst (Deephaven, MN), while keeper Cindy Matsushita (Bronx, NY) made 53 saves on 61 shots. The Jeffs fall to 2-3 overall, 1-3 ECAC Alliance. Bowdoin will next host Wesleyan on Friday at 7:00pm while Amherst hosts Trinity in a non-conference game on Saturday at 7:00pm.
