AMHERST, Massachusetts -- Two members of the Amherst College men's ice hockey team earned ECAC Honor Roll recognition for their performances in games through December 14, 1997. The Jeffs are currently 5-2 overall and tied for first place in the ECAC East with a 4-1 league record.
Rob MacDonald (Swampscott, MA) tallied four points in the Jeffs 8-1 romp over the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, formerly North Adams State). The forward scored two short-handed goals and added a pair of assists to bring his junior season totals to date to five goals and seven assists. MacDonald is currently the Jeffs' second leading scorer.
Darce Swaggert (Wayzata, MN) also notched a pair of goals against Massachusetts College to earn Honor Roll recogntion. The rookie is the team's fourth leading scorer with three goals and three assists to date, including a pair of power-play goals and the game-winner over Hamilton.
Amherst men's hockey is idle until Saturday, January 3, 1998 when the Jeffs host SUNY-Potsdam in the second game of the Western Mass. Tourney at the newly renovated Orr Rink.
