AMHERST, Massachusetts -- Amherst leveled 53 shots on goal toward a 7-0 victory over American International College in the Consolation game of the Western Mass Tourney. Senior co-captain Paul Gozzo (Avon, CT) led the attack with a goal and two assists for the Jeffs.
This is the second straight year that the Jeffs have earned a win over their ECAC-East competitors for a third-place finish in the Western Mass Tourney. Last night Amherst fell 7-6 to Potsdam in overtime after Williams defeated AIC 5-3. Potsdam and Williams will vie for the tournament title, a game currently in progress.
Amherst betters its record to 6-3 while AIC falls to 2-6-1. The Jeffs next travel to Connecticut College on Friday while the Yellow Jackets will host Bowdoin on January 9.
