AMHERST, Massachusetts -- Williams notched four goals in the opening period toward a 5-3 victory in the Western Mass Tourney. Ten different Ephs touched the puck on scoring plays, led by sophomore David Carrillo (Los Angeles, CA) with a pair of goals and junior Jeff Russell (Arlington, MA) with two assists.
AIC had scored first on one of two power play goals by sophomore Tim Kolasa (Shelby Township, MA). The Yellow Jackets shut out Williams in the second period as rookie keeper Chance Thede (Westminster, CO) made nine saves.
Williams improves to 6-1 for the season and will face the winner of Amherst-Potsdam in the tournament Championship on Sunday at 7:00pm. Falling to 2-5-1, AIC is next active in tomorrow's consolation game, scheduled for 4:00pm at Orr Rink.
