AMHERST, Massachusetts -- Heidi Cline (Andover, MA) posted four goals as Amherst College (9-3) defeated Mount Holyoke College (5-10), 21-11 at Pratt Field. The senior co-captain posted the first three goals of the game and notched her fourth during a six-run rally that gave Amherst its biggest lead, 18-5, with 16:47 left on the game clock. Eleven Amherst players got on the scoreboard as the hosts boasted a 10-4 lead at the break. Mount Holyoke rallied late in the game, however, as the Lyons made a 5-1 run in the closing 11:12. Jessica Striebel (Gill, MA) led all scorers with seven goals and an assist for Mount Holyoke. Molly Thomas (Shutesbury, MA) and Jennifer Schenfeld (Johnstown, PA) combined for nine saves for Mount Holyoke, while Sarah Evans (Columbus, OH) and Jess Thaxton (Wayland, MA) stopped five Lyon shots. Mount Holyoke concludes its regular season with a 5-10 record. Amherst, ranked No. 10 in the country, will close out its season by hosting archrival Williams, undefeated and No. 1 in the nation, on Saturday at 2:00pm.
