Six Lord Jeffs Named Division III ITA Scholar-Athletes

AMHERST, Massachusetts -- The 1997-1998 Amherst College Lord Jeff Men's Tennis squad was named to the Division III ITA All-Academic Team roster. Amherst became one of 17 Division III schools to receive ITA All-Academic team honors for their performance on and off the court in 1997-1998. By ITA standards, a team must maintain above a 3.2 cumulative team grade point average to be considered for selection.

With six players named to the Division III Men's ITA Scholar-Athlete list, Amherst coach Peter Robson's (1993 ITA/Wilson Coach of the Year) squad posted the most players of any Division III school. The six scholar-athletes include Benjamin Brubaker, Ryan Cole, Noah Lippe-Klein, Robert Stephens, Harlan Stock, and Adam Wolf.

The 1997-1998 Lord Jeff Men's Tennis Team completed their 1997-1998 campaign with a 12-5 record and a final #8 ranking in the nation. For the ninth time in ten years, the team finished in the top two in the NESCAC (New England Small College Athletic Conference). # # # 7/14/98
