Carroll Breaks Career Home Run Record

AMHERST, Massachusetts -- Josh Carroll (Winchester, MA) sent a solo home run over the fence in the 7th inning to break Amherst's career home run record. Springfield responded with four hits in the ninth, capped off by a three-run home run by senior catcher Andy Dyjak (Warren, MA). Springfield College (21-12) will next play as the No. 2 seed in the ECAC Division III New England Championship.

Spencer Christensen (Southboro, MA) led the Jeffs with a 4-for-5 performance and two stolen bases. Senior Jon Cross (Bethesda, MD) earned the win with a complete game that featured nine strike outs and no walks. Amherst concludes its regular season with a 21-9 record.
