Women's Tennis Demolishes Visiting Trinity Bantams 9-0

Lady Jeffs Prime For Rematch Against 1998 National Champ Skidmore

AMHERST, Massachusetts -- The Amherst College Women's Tennis Team breezed through the match today against Trinity College with their thoughts on the much bigger picture. After a 9-0 shelling of the Bantams, the Lord Jeffs are primed and ready for tomorrow's rematch with their 1998 NCAA Final Four opponent Skidmore College.

The Thoroughbreds, who barely squeeked by the Lord Jeffs in last year's NCAA Tournament, roll into the Pioneer Valley tomorrow at 1:00 for the much anticipated matchup. Both teams are essentially the same, minus Amherst #1 single star Pam Diamond, who is rehabilitating an injured knee -- the same knee she injured in the final match with Skidmore in last year's tourney. Since then, Amherst has turned to sophomore sensation Jamie Cohen to hold down the #1 spot until Diamond returns for the spring season.
