Women's Tennis Knocks the King Off The Hill

Lord Jeffs Win 5-4 Over Defending National Champion Skidmore



AMHERST, Massachusetts -- In a rematch of last year's NCAA Division III Final Four Semifinal , the Amherst College Women's Tennis team got sweet revenge over the Skidmore Thoroughbreds. The score was tied 4-4 and the day came down to the last match between #2 singles star Neely Steinberg '99 and her #2 Skidmore counterpart. After losing the first set 6-3, Steinberg came charging back with furious vengeance and took the final two sets by scores of 7-5 and 6-2. Amherst now stands with a 3-0 record.

The Lord Jeffs take on the women from cross-town rival UMASS tomorrow afternoon at 3:30.
