AMHERST, Massachusetts -- Janinne Noel had five three-pointers in Amherst's 78-66 victory over Little Foe Wesleyan. Amherst took a 36-28 lead into the locker room and opened up the second half with a 7-0 run. But Wesleyan mounted a 10-2 run to cut the lead to four on a jumper by Rachel Sanchez. Amherst responded with defensive pressure to extend their lead back into double digits toward their 14th win of the season.
Lindsay Gaskins led the Cardinals with 20 points while rookie Lynn St. Martin pulled down 10 boards with her 11 points. Katie Hersey led the Jeffs with her ninth double-double of the season and second of the week with a 22-point, 16 rebound showing.
Wesleyan falls to 1-15 while Amherst betters its record to 14-7.
