Meegan Garrity released a shot with less than a second on the game-clock to beat Amherst 97-95. Garrity had 37 points for the night, including the final five points of the game as Clark trailed by three with under a minute to play. Her sixth 3-pointer of the night tied the game at 95 before she sank the buzzer-beater.
Amherst's Sarah Rinaldi gave the Jeffs an early lead behind her career high 24-points. But four consecutive Cougar 3's led Clark to a 43-42 halftime lead. Rinaldi sparked a 6-0 run midway through the second half to regain the lead for the Jeffs before she exited the game with an ankle sprain at 1:33 left in the game. The teams flip-flopped through nine lead-changes and seven ties as neither squad could extend its lead into double digits. Katie Hersey scored her 21st point of the night as she drove the lane to put Amherst up 95-92.
Clark betters its record to 12-3 as they broke an Amherst record for number of points scored by an opponent. The Jeffs fall to 7-5 and prepare to face Springfield College at home on Saturday.
