John Pavelski hit two consecutive three-pointers with three minutes left to play as Amherst pulled away from Hamilton for the last time in a 103-90 defeat of the Cardinals. Pavelski had 21 points for the night, second for the Jeffs to senior tri-captain Jamal Wilson with a career high 44 points. Among those 44 were nine from long range to break a school record for the most three-pointers by an individual in a single game. Wilson had already broken the former record once with seven 3's against Johnson & Wales earlier this year. Wilson moves up to the No. 6 spot of All-Time Scoring leaders with 1,246 points.
The Jeffs went on a 10-0 run early in the first half to lead by as much as eight before Hamilton shut-out Amherst scoring to close out the half. Pushing the score to 50-47 Amherst heading into the locker rooms, Hamilton chipped away at the lead with the help of Amherst foul trouble. The Continentals had pulled within three before Pavelski's threes, just two of 23 hit throughout the game.
Michael Schantz led the Continetals with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Hamilton had five players in double figures, including J.J. Raedts with another double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds).
