Amherst went on a 17-0 run midway through the second half to break away from Bowdoin for an 84-67 win. This is the eleventh straight win for the Jeffs who face top-ranked Colby tomorrow at LeFrak.
Hugh Quattlebaum scored six of his career high 13 points to spark the Amherst run. He was one of three Lord Jeffs in double figures, along with Jamal Wilson with 23 and John Pavelski with 20.
Chris Whipple led the way for the Bears with 27 points and 13 rebounds. Bowdoin played Amherst close early in the first half before the Jeffs mounted a 13-2 run over six minutes midway through the period towards a 14-point halftime lead.
