Schwarting Named NESCAC Player of the Week

AMHERST, Massachusetts -- Allison Schwarting (Los Angeles, CA), a first-year right hander for Amherst College Softball, was named the NESCAC Player of the Week for her performance in two wins in a doubleheader against Trinity (CT). As the starting pitcher for game one, Schwarting struck out eight Bantams in a four-hit shutout. In nine games and 49.1 innings pitched, the rookie has compiled a 5-2 record with a league-leading 0.85 ERA.

Schwarting played game two of the doubleheader at right-field. For the series, she had three hits and three of her nine stolen bases for the year. The Jeffs are now 9-2 and play a doubleheader at Smith tonight as they hope to extend their seven-game win-streak.
