Amherst Earns First Win over Williams in 15 Years

WILLIAMSTOWN, Massachusetts -- Brian Angelini (Granada Hills, CA) blasted a feed from Andy Kay (North Easton, MA) into the back of the net 12:20 into sudden death overtime as Amherst notched its first victory over Williams in men's soccer in fifteen years. In that span, the archrivals met 18 times, including five tournament showdowns, where the Ephs compiled a 14-0-4 record against the Jeffs. The last time Amherst emerged victorious against the Ephs was another 2-1 overtime victory to earn the Jeffs the 1982 ECAC Championship. Williams had scored first in the 12th minute when Chris Smith (Newton, MA) lobbed a ball on the endline onto the head of Greg Classen (Ballaston Lake, NY).
