What was new in November 1998

Nov. 25Created a new page for NESCAC conference news.
Nov. 24Added NESCAC football scores from 1991 and 1990.
Nov. 23Added a bunch of 1996 and 1997 football articles to my NESCAC football pages (mainly from Amherst, Bates, and Bowdoin).
Nov. 22Updated statistics for my website.
Nov. 20Added illustrations to Baa, Baa, Black Sheep and Little Bo Peep. Worked on the NESCAC squash pages (men's and women's)
Nov. 19Redid Eugene Field pages to remove tabular formatting (which I had neglected to remove before). Changed font of most literature pages to Georgia from Arial. Added "next chapter" and "last chapter" buttons to the chapters of Love Affairs of a Bibliomaniac. Also made a few minor fixes.
Nov. 18Added letters R through Z to the list of surnames represented in the Amherst College Centennial Biographical Record.
Nov. 17Updated the NESCAC football pages for Saturday's games. Created pages for 1999 NESCAC football. Updated statistics for my website (through Sunday, November 15). Added letters M through Q to the list of surnames represented in the Amherst College Centennial Biographical Record.
Nov. 13-16In Massachusetts for Amherst Homecoming. Watched Williams beat us again. Tried kicking a 40-yard field goal at halftime. My lifetime field goal record is now 0-for-1. (Plenty of leg, not quite enough aim.)
Nov. 12Updated the NESCAC sailing page and the NESCAC men's rugby page. Added illustrations for the nursery rhymes "Bye, baby bunting...," "To market, to market...," "Up, little baby, stand up clear...," and "Diddle, diddle, dumpling, my son John..."
Nov. 11Added illustrations for the nursery rhymes "Rock-a-bye, baby...," "This little pig went to market...," and "Pat-a-cake..."
Nov. 10Finished the NESCAC football series (back to 1992). Continued removing the navigation bar from the right side of my pages, and adding navigational links at top and bottom.
Nov. 9Continued removing the navigation bar from the left side of my pages, and adding navigational links at top and bottom.
Nov. 8Redid most of the family pictures pages, removing the navigation bar at left side and adding navigational links at the top and bottom.
Nov. 7Went to the Michigan-Penn State game. (Go Blue!) Obviously did a lot of NESCAC football stuff.
Nov. 6More work on the NESCAC football series pages.
Nov. 5Continued working on the NESCAC football series pages; did complete Wesleyan-Williams series (by hand), having received the scores today from Dick Quinn. Added a bunch more eight-year series records (with WebExpress).
Nov. 4Continued working on the NESCAC football series pages; did complete Bates-Bowdoin series (by hand), plus a few series for the past eight years (with WebExpress). Added a link or two to the People, Photos, and Internet pages. Removed menus from Hans Christian Andersen pages, and changed the font of his stories to Georgia (from Arial). Changed color of all titles in my website to HTML's "Navy" (0-0-128) from WebExpress's "Dark Blue" (0-0-127), which mysteriously allows the titles to print on my printer. Changed the light gray I use on my football pages from #EBEBEB to #DCDCDC, so that people using 256 colors will still see gray.
Nov. 3Removed navigation menus from all of the sports pages. All of the pages have a link to "home" which itself has the navigation menus; plus, too many people were clicking on photos, apparently thinking they were going to see photos of their favorite team. So, now we'll have less confusion and easier maintenance. Also, redid the Amherst-Trinity football series information and Amherst-Bowdoin series information pages (by hand).
Nov. 2Got thoroughly sick of the inefficiency of the HTML generated by WebExpress. Discovered I could reduce the file size for the Amherst-Williams football series information from 40k to 15k if I did the page by hand. Wow.
Nov. 1Decided to start making series information pages (e.g., Amherst-Williams series information) for the NESCAC football pages, and made pages for all of Amherst's NESCAC series, plus all of the games coming up this week.
