KEENAN, DEFENSE LEAD WILLIAMS 
FOOTBALL OVER TRINITY

Hartford, CT - Senior quarterback Sean Keenan completed 22 of 36 passes for
373 yards and two touchdowns, while the Williams College defense held their
opponent scoreless for the second consecutive game as the Ephs posted a 17-0
win over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic
Conference football action this afternoon.
	Williams improves to 2-0 with their 12th straight win going back to
1997, and their third straight over the Bantams.  Trinity falls to 1-1. 
	After a 32-yard field goal by Williams junior Robert Kaufman with
1:59 left in the first period and 29-yard missed field goal by Trinity
senior kicker Andy Reimer (Scarsdale, NY) early in the second quarter,
Keenan connected with junior wide out Matt Student for a 12-yard touchdown
pass to give the Ephs a 10-0 lead with 7:07 left in the first half.
	With 4:20 remaining in the first half, Trinity senior
quarterback/punter Gregg Wysocki (New Britain, CT) landed a punt out of
bounds at the Williams one-yard line.  However, Williams ran a play-action
pass on third and four from their own five-yard line and Keenan found
Student streaking down the right sideline for a 95-yard touchdown.
	The teams went into the locker room at the half with the Ephs ahead,
17-0, and the score remained the same for the whole second half.  Williams
threatened again in the fourth quarter, but Trinity sophomore safety Steve
Cella (Peabody, MA) intercepted his third pass in two games and returned the
ball to the Williams 37-yard line.  Trinity wa sunable to capitalize with
Wysocki taking three sacks in seven plays.
	Student finished with six catches for 173 yards, and senior Mike
Paolercio caught six balls for 93 yards.  Junior halfback Fred Storz paced
the Eph running game with 93 yards on 30 carries.
	Trinity freshman halfback Brian Fabrizio (Norwell, MA) came off the
bench to gain 42 yards on 11 carries.  Senior linebackers Jeff Iudice
(Melrose, MA) and Brian LaHaie (Silver Spring, MD) starred for the Bantam
defense.  Iudice made 14 tackles and LaHaie notched 13 tackles and two
sacks.  Cella added seven tackles  and senior defensive tackle Nate Barad
(Cincinnati, OH) had seven tackles with two resulting in Williams losses.
	Senior defensive end William O'Brien had eight tackles, two sacks,
and five tackles for losses for the Eph defense.
