The three genera of Lycieae differ in their distribution. All but one species of the genus Grabowskia (upper left) and the monotypic Phrodus microphyllus (lower left) are restricted to South America. In contrast, the large genus Lycium (remaining photos) is cosmopolitan and found worldwide (range indicated with blue shading).
