Software has been developed to simulate
-- orbits of moons in the Solar System, and of hypothetical extrasolar planets
-- relative orbits of binary systems selected from the Hipparcos catalog
This software allows both an animation mode and an observation mode (in which 'snapshots' are taken at specified intervals). Spectra are presented from which the Doppler effect allows a direct determination of orbit velocity. IR spectra are presented from which effective temperatures can be determined.
Other software has been developed in which Doppler velocities can be obtained for
-- circumstellar disks
-- spiral galaxies
None of the above software cannot be run on a browser. To download a copy, click here. To see the catalog descirptions and syllabi of undergraduate-level courses on the dark matter problem employing this software, click here for a non-technical course, and here for a slightly more technical course.
