Amherst Men's Squash Blanks Hobart

GENEVA, NY – The Amherst College men’s squash team won their third match in a row this afternoon when they completed a 9-0 win over Hobart College in Geneva, NY. Amherst moves to 5-5 on the season with the win, and have built significant momentum heading into the NESCAC Tournament next weekend.

Amherst senior Auloke Mathur (Mumbai, India) won his first match of the season as the number one seed this afternoon when he topped Hobart’s #1 player. Mathur played well, taking the match 9-2, 9-4, 9-1 in three straight games.

Amherst senior captain Peter Hatfield (Barrington, RI) played exception on the day, as he took his match 3-0 without losing a single point to Hobart’s #5 seed, Brian Shiver.

Amherst will take the week off before heading to NESCAC rival and national powerhouse Trinity College next weekend for the NESCAC Tournament. Match times and opponents are still to be determined.
