Jeffs Open Indoor Season at Husky Carnival December 2, 2006 Standing out for the women’s side were senior tri-captain Shauneen Garrahan (Fairfax Station, VA) and junior Kim Partee (Brentwood, TN), who finished first and second, respectively, in the 5K, with both hitting NCAA provisional marks with times of 17:24 and 17:29, respectively. Finishing close behind and in fourth place was junior Heather Wilson (Danvers, MA) with a time of 18:08. In other women’s events, senior tri-captain Maria Millard (Orono, ME) grabbed a third-place finish in the 800, as she raced aggressively from the gun and sped to a time of 2:22.77, while in the same heat sophomore Carly Levenson (Richmond, VA) would grab 11th with an opening season time of 2:28. The 4x400 team comprised of Millard, Levenson and sophomores Jenny Mancino (New York, NY) and Molly Priedeman (Wayzata, MN), who finished in seventh place with a time of 4:13.49. Mancino also grabbed 21st place in the 200 to go along with a 41st-place finish in the 55-yard dash before helping the relay team. Sophomore Kate Silverman (Upper Montclair, NJ) placed 15th and was the first Amherst runner across the line in the 500, with Priedman coming in just a few steps later in 16th and first-year Hoiwan Cheung (Hanover, NH) finishing 20th. Other first-years making college track debuts were Mary Doris Reggie (Crowley, LA), who would finish 12th in the 1000; Jennifer Rybak (Clifton Park, NY), who posted the top time in the 55 and also ran the 200; Amanda McGinn (Bangor, ME), who doubled up in the 55 and 200; and Mattie Baker (Brighton, IL) and Caroline Darmody (Coral Gables, FL) who competed in the 400, placing 16th and 25th, respectively.
