Amherst
College Remembers September 11
To the College Community:
I write to let you know that the College and various campus groups will mark the
one-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, with several
events on Wednesday, September 11, which are listed below.
All of you are invited to attend one or more of the observances as your schedule
allows. The College also will proceed that day with its regular work; classes
will go forward, but we ask that the faculty and students be sensitive to any
who choose for personal reasons to spend the day differently.
My thanks go out to the students and others who together have planned these occasions
for us to reflect soberly on the day and honor the victims of a year ago.
Sincerely,
Tom Gerety
