Robert Frost Fellow Michael Mazur '57

Acclaimed painter and print maker Michael Mazur '57 works with students of Visiting Assistant Professor of Fine Arts Betsey Garand as part of his Robert Frost Fellowship at the college in October. Mazur's residency, which was sponsored by the Friends of the Amherst College Library, also included an exhibition of his work at the Mead Art Museum and a public lecture. One of the foremost monotype artists in the United States, Mazur has exhibited widely and has taught at the Rhode Island School of Design, Brandeis University and Harvard University. Among his best-known works are his illustrations for Robert Pinsky's 1993 translation of The Inferno of Dante.
