We recommend using up current stationery, business cards and other items before ordering new supplies that have the revised seal. Events take place all day on Saturday, Feb. 6, and Saturday, Feb. 13, culminating in a performance of students' work in collaboration with established hip-hop artists. Students will learn ways to be more effective and engaging leaders who positively impact their campus and community. The LEAD Planning Committee is currently accepting workshop proposals, to be submitted by Monday, Nov. 30. Workshops are 50 minutes in length and should be for an audience of students with varying levels of leadership experience. Fellows will be available to assist upper-division students enrolled in Spanish culture courses (Spanish 13 and up) with Spanish-language writing projects. Students not enrolled in Spanish are also welcome to benefit from the program, which is meant to complement Spanish peer tutors helping students with grammatical questions in language courses. Spanish Writing Center Fellows will concentrate exclusively on narrative structure and strategy. Sessions will last 30 minutes. Every student must bring a draft or prospectus in hard copy. Beyond el Campo is run by the Amherst-based nonprofit organization Reader to Reader and is dedicated to bringing books and other educational resources to under-served schools throughout rural Costa Rica. Although Costa Rica's literacy rate is significantly higher than those of other Latin American countries, the public schools found in rural areas of the country are severely neglected and often left without a single book to offer students. Help us support these schools by bringing your books (written in Spanish) to the drop-off box on the first floor of Barrett Hall.
