CCE Engagement Advisor Office Hours
Looking to get involved in the campus
community and beyond but don't know
where to start? Come to the Center for
Community Engagement on Tuesdays
between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and between 5:30 and
7:30 p.m., as well as Thursdays from
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m., to
meet with an Engagement Advisor (EA). Our
EAs are fellow
Amherst College students who are
available to help you navigate to find
an organization that best suits your

Participants Needed for Psychology Study
The Department of Psychology is conducting
a study on intergroup decision-making.
The study, open to all students, runs
under half an hour. Participants will
engage in a computerized decision-making
game and receive $5. If interested,
please sign up using your SONA account

slot.

Long-Term Care Insurance: Enroll by Dec. 31
The enrollment period for the Amherst College Voluntary Long-Term Care Insurance benefit will run through Dec. 31. Eligible faculty and staff will have the opportunity to
purchase long-term care coverage for themselves and certain family members. Representatives from Tucker & Shepley
Benefits and Insurance will be on campus in December to discuss this benefit. The following link provides more

Counseling Center Hours During Winter Break
The Amherst College Counseling Center
will close for the Winter Break at 4:30
p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, and will
reopen for Interterm at 9 a.m. on
Monday, Jan. 7. Walk-in times during
Winter Break will be Thursday, Jan.
3, and Friday, Jan. 4, from
noon to 2 p.m. Amherst College
students with emergencies should contact
the Campus Police at 413-542-2111.
Student Workers Needed for Hockey Games Jan. 4 and 5
We are looking for a few students to work the Amherst College hockey games on Friday, Jan. 4, at 7 p.m. and

Tickets Available for 'Supper, Story & Song' Campus Challenge Event Jan. 21
The "Supper, Story & Song" is a fundraiser on Martin Luther King Day (Monday, Jan. 21). We wanted to do something special on the day itself, consistent with Dr. King's values. This year, as part of our Campus Challenge addressing poverty and educational opportunity, we are raising money for ABC House, Reader to Reader and Homework House of Holyoke.
There will be a simple meal and then a program including brief presentations by each organization, interspersed with
music of various genres and a talk by Scott Cohen.
If you are interested, you can purchase tickets, at $20 each, from committee members, the Student Activities Office
(Campus Center), the Public Affairs Office (306 Converse), the Alumni Gym (Room 1204), the Dean of Students' Office, A.J. Hastings, Amherst Books and the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce.

for the fifth annual Gerald R. Fink
'62 Bioscience Symposium, to be held
on Thursday, Jan. 31. This year's
theme will be "Current Issues Facing
Science and Health Care," and the
speakers come from a range of medical
fields and health care policy.

CCE is Hiring an Audio Documentarian-- Apply by Jan. 25
The Center for Community Engagement (CCE) seeks to hire an audio documentarian-- a new position at the CCE that will help to document the breadth and depth of community engagement at Amherst. We're looking for a creative, driven student who can interview a diverse group of people on a range of topics. The audio documentarian will collect and
produce original audio content. This content will be published on the CCE website and in the CCE monthly newsletter.

Influenza Vaccine Clinic for Amherst College Students Jan. 25
Amherst College Health Services will hold a student influenza vaccine clinic in the Faerber Room in Lewis-Sebring Dining Commons on Friday, Jan. 25,
between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Students
who have not been vaccinated against
this year's influenza strains are
strongly encouraged to get vaccinated.
The fee for the vaccine is $15. Please

Live Branding Case Study with Starwood Hotels & Resorts: Application Deadline Jan. 28
If you are considering a profession in
consulting or marketing, this case study
will enhance your ability to formulate a
strategic recommendation and deliver a
convincing and concise pitch, in a
friendly and nurturing environment.
Each participant will have the option to
accept a paid summer internship in one
of Starwood's North America hotels.
You will network with and receive
feedback from senior Starwood associates.
Ideal project teams will include four to six
students. Please identify your teammates

Keefe Health Center Hours During Winter Break and Interterm
The Amherst College Keefe Health Center
will close for the Winter Holiday Break
at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21,
and will reopen for the January
Interterm at 8:30 a.m. on Monday,
Jan. 7. Amherst College students
remaining in the local area are eligible to receive medical
care (for urgent needs only) at UMass
University Health Services (413-577-
5000) when the Amherst College Keefe
Health Center is closed. Amherst
