Facilities Department Announces Tree Work for July 19 to Aug. 10
There are several trees on the Amherst College campus that must be taken down, as recommended by a consulting arborist who periodically evaluates the condition and health of campus trees. Given the risk to the campus community associated with the degraded condition of these trees, the college is left with no option other than removing them. The Facilities Department has hired a contractor to remove these at- risk trees at several locations on the campus. This work will be done July 19 through Aug. 10. If there are any questions, please contact Bob Shea at rwshea@amherst.edu.

Summer Research Workshops
If you are staying on campus during the summer, Academic Technology Services and the Library provide a number of opportunities to enhance your research skills and meet with other students outside the lab and study carrel. Sign up to join us for upcoming receptions, research workshops and a weekly walk-in "Research Table," now through August. Of course, you can always contact us for one-on-one appointments and to learn about resources in the library and across campus. Whether you are a Summer Science Research Fellow, continuing your research from a spring Mellon Tutorial, working on a faculty project or getting a head start on your thesis, you'll find a way to move your research forward.
